Ramadan Readathon 2018

Ramadan Readathon is back! Now in its second year, the purpose of this month-long reading challenge is to celebrate and support Muslim authors during the holy month of Ramadan. Though the start of Ramadan 2018 (1439 AH) is still uncertain, the readathon this year will be taking place between May 17th and June 15th. You can follow @MuslimReadathon on Twitter and Instagram for all the updates, as well as #RamadanReadathon to share your own progress and recommendations!

BLOG TOUR

The blog tour will be the main feature of this year’s event where, throughout the month, we will be revealing the fifteen books that are hidden behind the fifteen doors. All of the books were chosen by the bloggers who are involved in the tour, and I’m really excited to see it in action. Each book reveal will also be accompanied by a review of the book, a giveaway or another related post, all of which can be found on the blogger’s Twitter page.

INSTAGRAM PHOTO CHALLENGES

In addition to the blog tour, there will also be a series of photo challenges on Instagram. The challenges are more flexible this year as the photos don’t have to feature books that are written by Muslim authors. Since the May – June period is a busy time for the majority of us, you can take part in these challenges as well as the Ramadan Readathon Book Tag (created by Amna @ YA Book Corner) without participating in the readathon. The unfortunate timing, however, also means there are no Twitter chats this time around.

If you’re thinking about participating in Ramadan Readathon 2018, here are some places where you can find suitable books to start compiling your TBR;

None of these lists are exhaustive, but they are a good place to start. Remember: the purpose of this readathon is to support books written by Muslims rather than books that are written about Muslims. *Some of the books listed here aren’t written by Muslims

With only a few days to go until the readathon starts, let me know if you’re taking part! Which books are on your TBR? Are you participating in any other reading challenges this month?
