#AvengersReadathon19 Sign-Up & TBR

Happy Avengers April! With just under two weeks until Avengers: Endgame and having just completed an MCU movie marathon in preparation, it’s no surprise that I’m also joining the #AvengersReadathon19 – a month-long readathon hosted by Noura @ The Perks Of Being Noura between April 14 and May 14.

There are eighteen S.H.I.E.L.D. assignments based on the characters within the MCU and each one has a set of prompts to complete. For this challenge, I had to stay loyal to Steve Rogers and choose Captain America’s assignments (though I was also tempted to choose Captain Marvel because I have nothing but respect for my two captains!)

Note: A lot of the books on my TBR for this readathon are the same books that were on my TBR for the last MCU-inspired readathon I attempted. That was almost a year ago. I only managed to read three books then so here’s hoping I have better luck this time around.

MY TBR

CAPTAIN AMERICA’S S.H.I.E.L.D. ASSIGNMENTS

THE FIRST AVENGER: FIRST BOOK IN A SERIES

I don’t actually have anything on my immediate TBR for this so I will probably skip it, but Caraval by Stephanie Garber is the only first book in a series which I own that I still haven’t read.

WHITE, RED AND BLUE: A BOOK WITH ONE OF THOSE COLOURS ON THE COVER

For this prompt, I’ll be reading Patron Saints Of Nothing by Randy Ribay. It has all three colours on the cover and it’s also one of my reads for #YARC2019.

WORLD WAR II: BOOK THAT FEATURES A WAR

I never got around to reading Salt To The Sea by Rupa Sepetys for the last readathon because I didn’t own a copy of the book at the time. I bought it shortly afterwards but I still haven’t read it.

1941: BOOK RELEASED BEFORE 2000

I probably won’t finish reading it by the time this readathon ends but The Sealed Nectar is on my #RamadanReadathon TBR and it’s the only book I can think of that fulfils this prompt.

THE STAR SPANGLED MAN: HISTORICAL FICTION

A God In Every Stone by Kamila Shamsie is also on my #RamadanReadathon TBR and I will definitely get around to reading it this year. I’m typing this into existence.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: A CLASSIC

I will probably also skip this prompt since I’m not really in the mood for a classic but I do have My Cousin Rachel by Daphne du Maurier in case I change my mind.

CAPTAIN MARVEL: NEW RELEASE

I have The Boxer by Nikesh Shukla on NetGalley which releases in June. It’s also one of my #YARC2019 reads!

And here lies my slightly ambitious TBR for #AvengersReadathon19! Are you participating in this readathon? Are you excited for Avengers: Endgame? Who is your favourite Avenger?
